Kids yoga at a villiage school

At our last camp I did a 45 minute yoga class with the little ones.
It was so much fun. Edna was my translator and we did all kinds of fun poses...

King cobra and 5 point star (below)

Tall mountain (just LOOK at that face!!)

Frogs jumping (insert sound of "ribit"!)

Boat pose while singing row, row, row your boat

Child's pose -here we made a thunder storm by pounding our hands on the ground like rain.

Side rainbows...

  1. My Name is Kelson, Malawian by Nationality. I love this blog, there is indeed much to be done to rescue the lives of these beloved kids. These kids have alot of problems such as no nutritious food to eat, no good clothes to put on, no auto-mobiles to play with as they do other kids in developed countries.
    CAUSES OF THESE PROBLEMS
    1. Poor Education
Malawi is one of the countries that have a large number of people who did not go to school. They therefore have no chance to better jobs that can help them generate wealth. Because of living without jobs, they expect government to do everything for them, and even if sometimes the government try to help these people, they will be helped only for a short period of time.
    2. Poor Politics
Malawian politics has been the major influence of these troubles. malawi is the only country i have seen in the world that doesn't know how to elect a leader, because they don't look at the policies of a person they just want someone who can give them money...."selling their votes in exchange of money". This problem is really big because when these selfish politicians are being elected, they just enrich themselves with wealth, spending all the government money yet there are people out here who are starving.
    3. Corruption
There are a lot of educated people in Malawi, every year students graduate from government as well as private universities locally or abroad. these students' expectations is to get imployed, but if they don't know nobody working in the government, they will sweat to get imployed.

    SOLUTION
It is not easy to solve these problems, however, since God did not say Malawians are gonna be poor like this, I would have loved if these international bodies that help Malawi financially, should update their policies. Instead of giving Malawi Money, Half of that money should be inform of Education. Internationals should send their Teachers from different fields to teach Malawians right in Malawi. These people will be helped a lot. Malawi is tired to be in poverty. WE NEED CHANGE!!!!
